Radioactive Leak Test

Our firm's leak testing service meets the CNSC expectations as defined in the CNSC guidelines dated February 7, 2011. Two options are offered:

Option 1 : One of our technicians can go onsite to perform leak tests of your sources. The technician can simultaneously train your staff on performing the test. The samples will be analysed at our laboratory and a leak test certificate will be issued.

Option 2: A leak testing kit can be sent to your facility with instructions. Once you have performed the required swipes, you can send the kit back to our laboratory by courier services for analysis. We will require the source’s make, model and serial number, your CNSC license number, the sampler’s name and date of sampling. We can also send you a sampling certificate to fill out together with the leak test kits.

If you already have leak test kits, you can send your samples for analysis to the following address:

ANALYSIS: In order to complete our range of services, our firm is equipped with various radioactivity counters and spectrometers.

We also own a few gamma neutron radiation meters for our first responders and for rent. For accurate gamma spectrometry analysis, a minimum of 100 grams of powdered material is required.

RADON: We sell activated charcoal cartridges for at risk places. Please note that only regularly occupied zones should be tested. Places are at risk when no or poor ventilation systems or air exchangers are used.
